My OC General Hai has problems with his hair growth rate. He likes to cut it short, but in just two days it grows back out again! And forget the facial hair... he shaves every morning, but it looks like that in two hours. This is most frustrating.

It's also frustrating for me as Hai's almighty creator to understand his hair, so I did some more practice Hais. I decided I do like the just-noogied look he's got in the center and upper left, and it would look like that at some point, but I'm not going to draw him much like that because I think it makes him look too cute. ...Not that drawing him chibified in the corner doesn't make him look too cute >3 ...I think he hates me.

Obviously I practiced some expressions too... since he's fun but hard to draw even for me. I think it's because he's got a lot going on in his face. He's very expressive actually, in his own closed-off sort of way (does that make sense? It does to me XD) As I get better at comic style, though, I notice I'm more and more able to replicate the image I have in my head (which is generally a realism,) so that I can even add the tiny dimple by his mouth I always envision. (Not that that always needs to be drawn in things like comics XXD)

When I first thought him up a long time ago, he was and still is a response to all the pretty boys in cartoons that keep popping up... those are great and fine and nice to look at sometimes, but it's also nice to have a few characters who actually look like men. I actually created his personality after his appearance.

People either seem to hate Hai or give him marriage proposals, and while I'm sad not everyone can appreciate the awesomeness of my character, ( ) at least I know I've made a dynamic one.

...I made this when yet again I should be finishing some things for other people. Sorry again, guys...
