Capricorn and Basta

I've been working on this in various intermissions between my hideous summer school work. -.0

Capricorn and Basta from Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. It's a book I read recently and really enjoyed. I thought it was about time I read it, before the movie comes out; plus one of my favorite artists has drawn some fanart for it and since all the other books she's drawn for I love (LotR, HP, etc.,) I decided to try it!! I loved it, obviously. Not too fond of whoever translated it into english, however. Typos everywhere, and the way the translated some exclamations and insults... Bad guys exclaiming "Oh my!" all the time doesn't really inspire much confidence.

Here are two of the main villains. Capricorn, the main baddie in front in one of his garish suits. He's described as being colorless in his hair, eyes, and face. Well, I tried, anyway XD

Basta behind him, and my favorite character. It's rare I like a full-fledged villain. Not sure what it is... his fondness for knives, mysterious past, his OCD... oh yeah. XD

The bg was made with several photos I already had and a stock photo of an Italian church. Capricorn and Basta were drawn and colored with my wacom in PSP. Please comment, helps me improve!! Speaking of which, I need to answer all mine again. D:

...In other news, I saw a dung beetle today. Didn't know those lived in Texas. And I've always lived here. XD <--- Further proof I need to update my journal instead of telling everyone pointless bits of my life in my art comments >3
